What are your hours of operation?

The facility is accessible 24-hours a day through our secure automatic gate. Tenants must enter their security gate code to enter the facility. To leave the facility, simply drive up to the gate and it will automatically open for you.

How do I rent a unit?

There are a couple ways to rent a unit. To rent at our facility, simply drive up to our kiosk system, tap on the screen and you'll be prompted through our rental process. For added convenience, you can also rent over the phone.

Is there pest control?

Yes. A monthly preventative pest control is applied to the outside of the units. In addition a preventative pest control is applied around the edges of the storage units when they are prepared for our next customers.

What size units are available?

 5' x 10' - Climate-Controlled Storage and Regular Storage
10' x 10' - Climate-Controlled Storage and Regular Storage
10' x 20' - Regular Storage

What temperature are your climate-controlled storage units maintained at?

Our climate-controlled units are maintained between 60 and 80 degrees.

I don't know what size I would need. Can you help me?

What payment options do you accept?

We accept checks, money orders as well as credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover). Additionally we accept ACH Bank Draft and will be happy to setup automatic monthly payments for your convenience.

Please make checks or money orders payable to SmartLock Self-Storage. Checks and money orders may be placed in the drop box located at the front of the facility, or they may be mailed to: SmartLock Self-Storage, P.O. Box 10861, Burke, VA 22009

Can I pay for my unit over the phone?

Yes we are more than happy to process your rental payment over the phone. We can process any credit card transaction as well as ACH Bank Draft transaction over the phone.

Can I pay for my unit online?

Yes we're offer the added convenience of online bill pay. To pay online simply click on the "Pay Rent" tab at the top of the page. After creating an online account with us, you can make payments online, setup Auto-Pay and even sign-up for insurance!

What is the minimum amount of time that I can rent a unit?

The minimum rental period is one month. Storage units are leased on a month-to-month basis.

Do you have your own movers?

Currently we do not provide moving services to our customers.

How long will it take to complete my transaction on move-in day?

The entire move-in process should take less than 15-minutes. Please keep in mind that this time could vary if customers are ahead of you.

Do I need insurance?

Although insurance is not required, we strongly encourage our customers to insure their units. We offer storage insurance options as low as $8 a month. Get more information about our storage insurance offerings by clicking on the link to the left.

What are prohibited storage items?

How do I terminate my lease with SmartLock Self-Storage?

It is very simple to terminate your lease with SmartLock Self-Storage, just remove everything from your unit, remove your lock and you're finished. We always appreciate a quick courtesy to let us know that you are moving out! Please remember to remove all of your belongings and take your lock with you.

Do I need to bring my own lock?

Although we do not provide complimentary locks for our tenants, we do sell premium disc locks to our tenants. Please either call us or e-mail us if you would like to purchase a lock from us.
